Overview of Modules

The Teen Take Heart curriculum is designed into four interactive learning modules.  The lessons demonstrate how the Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core ideas of the NGSS can be integrated. Structure and Function are tied to homeostasis of the cardiac system while students ask questions and generate arguments about their health.

Module 1: The Heart: What Makes You Tick? (Structure and Function)

Module 2: The Hard Truth (Cardiovascular Disease)

Module 3: Moving Towards Health (Nutrition and Activity)

Module 4: Can Humans Grow A New Heart? (Research & The Scientific Process)
